The Waves + Control Rooms

2 - 28 July 2015

Two projects I developed during my Asialink Resdiency in Japan in 2014 were be presented to Australian audiences for the first time at PhotoAccess, Canberra. The Waves + Control Rooms are poetic responses to reserach I conducted into objects and communities affected by the 2001 Greast East Japan Tsunami. The Waves is a series of 8 photogrpahs depicting classic characters such as Achilles, Gilgamesh and Dionysus on mobile devices placed on top of images of waves. The Waves were developed for the exhibition Cutback: surfing through art, curated by Virginia Rigny and Emma Collerton, Gold Coast City Gallery, March 2015.
